          IF YOU SUSTAINED AN INJURY
             
                                              

            
INITIAL INJURY CARE INFORMATION

For any new injuries occurred in participation of sports, these are some guidelines to follow (RICES):

  • REST
  • ICE
  • COMPRESSION
  • ELEVATION
  • SUPPORT



Rest the injured part.
Ice the injured part for 20-30 minutes, allow 30 minutes  for the part to warm up and ice again for 20-30 minutes. 
Compression will reduce swelling in the affected area. 
Elevate above the heart if possible to reduce swelling. 
Support the injured area if possible. 



Do not use HEAT or WARM SOAKS for recent injuries, this may increase swelling and/or pain and prolong the healing process.
